**Position Available: Manager at RVHR Horse Rescue**

Our 501(c)(3) horse rescue is seeking a dependable Manager to oversee daily operations at the rescue, handle property maintenance, assist with some office tasks, and support the CEO in caring for our rescued horses. **Position Details:**

We are looking for a 1099 Contract Employee to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking, and possess some horse experience, although it is not a requirement.

This is a hands-on position that involves daily horse care, general barn/property maintenance, and office support. We seek someone who is enthusiastic about a career in the horse industry, takes initiative, pays attention to detail, and can work independently.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:**

Daily feeding and care of horses and other onsite animals.

– Preparing feed and supplements.

– Distributing hay according to each horse’s needs.

– Cleaning stalls and outbuildings.

– Cleaning water troughs and feed buckets weekly or as needed.

– Assisting with minor medical care for any injured animals.

– Monitoring feed, supplements, hay, and supplies, and notifying the CEO when orders need to be placed.

– Assisting during farrier visits.

– Helping with visitors and volunteers.

– Maintaining the barns and surrounding areas.

– Cleaning and organizing the feed and tack rooms as well as the main barn areas.

– Conducting weekly fence checks and performing minor fence repairs.

– Assisting with some office tasks (such as fundraising online, direct mailings, database upkeep, Facebook posting, etc.).

**Requirements:**

– A desire to help and care for animals in need.

– Must be at least 18 years old.

– Reliable transportation.

– Excellent communication skills.

– Ability to manage work hours efficiently and accomplish daily tasks independently.

– Strong attention to detail.

– Dependable and punctual.

– Willingness to learn ground manners for working with horses.

– Willingness to learn to use facility equipment (tractors, mowers, weeders, etc.).

– Ability to safely handle horses and recognize changes in behavior and appetite, and check for injuries.

**The right candidate should be:**

? Willing to work outdoors in all seasons.

? Reliable and trustworthy.

? Able to work independently and recognize what needs to be done.

? Comfortable with physical work, including lifting hay/feed over 50 lbs, and cleaning stalls.

? Eager to learn and grow within the position.

? Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to communicate effectively in English for safety and work instructions.

? Prepared to work in a no-cell-phone environment.

**Compensation:**

Salary is based on experience, ranging from $14.50 to $17.33 per hour.
