heart cloud WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS!! CAN YOU HELP WITH A SMALL DONATION?

It’s Hay season now.  June 13th was the first day in 3 weeks we could not get out there and work making hay for the horses?  It was heavy rain the night before.

The good news is in the first 3 weeks we have made a 126 round bales for the horses they are now munching away on fresh cut hay eating the bales as if they were going out of style.

eyore rain Bad news is we lost the uses of our TT50 tractor (transmission broke) along with the round baler.  The tractor is in the shop waiting for us to find the funds ($5,200.00) to be repaired and the baler is just done and is going to the scrap yard. Unable to work with our tiny little 40 horse power tractor (it’s too small to run the cutter) we had no choice but to take a loan out to get another used tractor and a new round baler ($29,750).  The payment on the loan is $425.00 a month an additional cost to our already high cost of care for the 54 horses here.  But they have to have hay to eat.  The new tractor and baler was delivered on Friday and we continued on again over the weekend darting the thunderstorms over the hay fields. Yesterday while raking some more hay with the 40hp tractor so we could get ready to bale the clutch went in the small tractor another $2,800.00 in repairs to cover.

I am sure you are thinking why spend all this money on equipment when you can buy hay.  Well we cut and make over 2000 rolls of hay in one year for the horses and they eat ever last one of them.  If we have to buy the hay that’s 2000 rolls at $40. each a cost of $80,000 just in hay alone verses $37,750.00 to make what we need.

If you would like to make even a $5.00 donation toward the equipment bills please feel free to donate on line with our link to GiveDirect on the left.                                                                                Thank you for reading this and for your assistance.     P.L. Muncy
